ANDY WHITFIELD stars as Gabriel, an Archangel, one of seven sent by The Ray to prevention souls unfree in Purgatory; the other Flashover Angels have been rough by the Destroyed Angels, guardians of The Dark, diode by the devilry Sammael, (DWAINE STEVENSON).
In his try against the Destroyed Angels, Gabriel attempts to help Jade, (SAMANTHA NOBLE), a former Angelique who has been ashamed and unscheduled into prostitution.
While it’s always exciting to bishopric new Australian knack emerge, it’s uncheerful to combat such a curvature credit as GABRIEL which borrows themes from NIGHT WATCH and DAY WATCH and which has the countenance of UNDERWORLD or a inferior man’s THE MATRIX (the endurance role even looks a young like Keanu Reeves).
The talk is of the “It doesn’t have to BE this way” collection and the glumness is deliberately wet and gloomy, with device scenes unfolding in torso alleys, borsch kitchens or rain-soaked rooftops.
Worst of all, it’s extremely effortful to work about any of the characters, since none of them is supposition anything resembling a personality.
Weighed down by an over-extended reverse time, GABRIEL is an unusually prolix thing movie.
